Morning Glory Dew

A Chilled Summer Soup


2 large cucumbers – peeled, seeded, and diced
1 cup sour cream
1 cup plain yogurt
1 cup vegetable broth
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup chopped fresh mint
1/2 cup chopped fresh dill


Combine cucumber, sour cream, yogurt, vegetable broth, and garlic in a large bowl; blend together using an immersion blender until smooth. Blend in mint and dill.

I do not have an immersion blender so I used a food Processor.


Refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour.


I used a ziplock bag with yogurt in it. I cut a hole in the corner of it to make the swirl.



Essence Mango and Tel’Abim Banana Bread ~ World of Warcraft

I’m stepping outside the box today.
I was feeling a bit nostalgic and still had a few Essence Mangoes around.
The mango was given out by the Zandalar Tribe when you reached the appropriate reputation. (I have great refrigeration.)  I had a expert frost mage enchant my crisper in exchange for my Pandarian Red Salad recipe. It’s one of my Mists of Pandaria expansion ideas so it is not available in game yet. 
The Tel’Abim Banana is abundant on Azeroth and can be found almost anywhere.

You will need:
1 1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
3 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 cup mashed bananas (2 bananas)
1 mango, peeled and mashed

 Add all ingredients and mix.

 Mix well.

 Add to greased bread loaf pan.
Sprinkle top with 1 tbs sugar

 Bake in 350 degree oven for 30-45 minutes. Until knife inserted into center comes out clean.

 Let cool for 10 minutes then remove from pan.

 Slice. Serve.


Mole Loaf ~ Final Fantasy

You will need:

Mole loaf:
2 lbs ground beef or turkey
Dry onion soup seasoning packet
2 eggs
1 cup quick oats
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1/2 onion, chopped

Pasta sauce
2 tbs brown sugar

 Add all ingredients into a bowl and mix well.

Place in a loaf pan.
Bake for at 350 degrees F for 30-45 minutes. Until brown and internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.

 For topping:
Measure 1/4 cup pasta sauce
2 tbs brown sugar.
When loaf has 10 minutes left to bake, pour topping mixture over mole loaf and return to oven.

 Slice and serve.

Bannock ~ Lord of the Rings

 They taste like very dense biscuits.

This is what Hobbits would make while traveling. They are quite dense and filling and you do not need to give them time to rise. Which is convenient  while on an adventure. They can be cooked over an open fire in the outdoors or in an oven. (If you happen to find a comfy bed to sleep in.) They scorch easily when pan cooking but if you ladle meat gravy over them, your mates will never know.

You will need:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons baking powder
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 cups water

(optional) add a cup of dried fruits or nuts for a different flavor

Measure flour, salt, and baking powder into a large bowl. Stir. 

Pour melted butter and water over flour mixture. Stir with fork to make a ball.

Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface, and knead gently about 10 times. 

Pat into a flat circle 3/4 to 1 inch thick.

Cook in a greased frying pan over medium heat, allowing about 10 minutes for each side. 

Use a spatula for turning.

May also be baked on a greased baking sheet at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes.


Red Bean Cake ~ Guild Wars

1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 1/4 cups white sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 cups milk
1 (18.75 ounce) can sweetened red bean paste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 
Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, mix together the butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and milk. 

Stir in the rice flour and baking powder. 

Pour the batter into the prepared pan. 

Drop red bean paste by scant teaspoonfuls onto the top of the cake. 

This is the red bean paste I used. I bought it off
If spoonfuls are too big, the filling will sink to the bottom.

Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until cake springs back when lightly touched. 
Flip it out of the cake pan. 
Let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.


Walnut Bread ~ Final Fantasy

2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup walnuts
1 beaten egg
1/2 tsp salt

In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. 

Add the beaten egg and milk and stir. 

Fold in the walnuts. 

Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 350 for about forty minutes.


Council of the Three Hammers Interview and Bacon

These three were harder to interview then a politician. The only thing I could get them to agree on was bacon.
Falstad Wildhammer: BACON!
Muradin Bronzebeard: BACON!
Moira Thaurissan: BACON!
Falstad & Muradin start to scuffle, tipping over a chair. The fact checker ducks, barely missing a punch intended for Muradin.
TGF: Guys, please.
Moira Thaurissan: Oy!
TGF: And girls. Can I get everyone to sit down, please. 
Falstad Wildhammer: It’s nice to finally have a lady for company. 
(Falstad winks at me as a hardtack biscuit from Moira’s general direction bonks him in the head.)
TGF: Council, please. Lets start with Flastad, can you tell us what you choose as your dish?
Falstad: Well now, Fannie has been after me about eating right. So I choose baked asparagus.
TGF: Baked asparagus, really.
Falstad: Well baked asparagus wrapped in BACON.
Muradin: BACON!
Moira: BACON!
Falstad begins dancing on his end of the table. 
Muradin taps my shoulder and places a steaming dish in front of me.  It smells wonderful!
Muradin: My favorite dinner is Westfall chicken legs. Anduin visits often and he always brings me a few cluckers to bake up and wrap in-
Falstad: BACON!
Muradin lunges at Falstad across the table and tackles him to the ground. 
Muradin: That was my-
Falstad: FOR BAC-
Muradin: Damnit man
Falstad: Bacon!
Moira sits down next to me and hands me a long, thin piece of chocolate. I bit into it and look back at Moira surprised. 
TGF: It’s chocolate covered bacon! It’s delicious.
Moira: Bacon is always delicious.
Falstad, Moira, Muradin: BACON!
Moira hands Fenran a bacon wrapped chicken leg. Which he immediately starts to chew on. 
Here ya have it, a bacon feast fit for a dwarf.
Chocolate Covered Bacon

You will need:
Thick cut bacon and melted chocolate.

Cook the bacon till crispy then let cool completely.
Dip into melted chocolate to coat.
Let chill in refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Chicken Wrapped Bacon
You will need:
Chicken legs and one piece of thick cut bacon per leg.


Wrap bacon around chicken leg and bake for 20 minutes in 350 degree oven.
Baked Asparagus with Bacon
You will need:
Fresh asparagus and bacon slices.

Divide asparagus into 4 piles of 6.

Wrap a slice of bacon around middle of each.
Lay on baking sheet and cook for 20 minutes. Until tender and bacon is cooked.

Fit for a dwarf or any race. Yum!
