Not toaster safe guys. You will need to warm them in the oven. Sorry.
You will need:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, cut into pats
1 large egg
2 tablespoons milk
Whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
Work in the butter with your fingers and the mixture holds together when you squeeze it.
Whisk the egg and milk together and stir them into the dough, kneading briefly on a well-floured counter if necessary.
Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a smooth rectangle, about 3 by 5 inches.
I used a pizza cutter to cut mine. Put some fork holes in the tops and bottoms to vent.
Put filling on half of the squares.
I used apple pie filling the centers but for a different filling try.
Brown sugar and cinnamon
chocolate and marshmello fluff
Press the tines of the fork around the edges to seal it closed.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes until the edges brown. You can put an egg wash on them to make the tops brown as well but don’t worry about it if you are going to ice them.
Serve in the place of pop-tarts for breakfast!
Or for a dessert with ice cream!
